This commissioned doll was a Christmas gift for a long-time patron from her husband. Since it was my first Native American character doll, I researched how to dress her and decided to use a lamb skin chammy, purchased at the auto parts store, for her dress and moccasins. I added beadwork to the dress and also beaded the sides and tops of her moccasins. One of her necklaces is made of tiny pieces of turquoise, vintage silver beads and a small bear fetish. The second necklace is made of tiny bird fetishes and beads. Her hair is black wool and she is carrying a small woven basket filled with faux berries.
