Aleta
Aleta

Aleta is a 12” one-of-a-kind doll that was created for the 2008 Treasures of the Gypsy Exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival. The exhibit theme was “Travels of the Gypsy.” I named her Aleta, which means wanderer in the Gypsy language, and I seated her on a purchased leather camel. The doll and the camel are dressed in colorful fabrics and trims, some of which were provided by Treasures of the Gypsy for the entry fee. The overall measurements are 13”L x 6”D x 17”H.
